What is electric bike rental for delivery riders in London?

Electric bike rental lets London delivery riders rent a fully insured electric cargo or delivery e-bike on a flexible weekly contract. Unlike electric mopeds, an EAPC (electrically assisted pedal cycle) needs no driving licence, no CBT and no road tax — you can start delivering on cycle lanes and in bus lanes immediately.

Otto Scooter rents two delivery e-bikes in London — the ETT Trayser 2.0 and the Cycl Carr-E — from £49 per week, including hire-and-reward insurance, GPS tracking, free servicing and breakdown replacement. There is no upfront deposit and no credit check. Otto has operated in London since 2019 and serves over 2,000 delivery riders.

Frequently asked

Do I need a licence or CBT to ride an Otto e-bike?
No. Both the ETT Trayser 2.0 and the Cycl Carr-E are electric pedal-assisted cycles (EAPCs) — no driving licence, no CBT and no insurance test required to ride them legally in the UK. If you’d prefer a faster vehicle, see our electric mopeds.
How far can an e-bike go on one charge?
The ETT Trayser 2.0 covers 50–60 miles on its 1056 Wh battery; the Cycl Carr-E covers around 40 miles. Both batteries are removable and charge from a standard 3-pin socket in about 4 hours.
Are e-bikes good enough for full-time delivery?
Yes — for zone-1 and cycle-lane-heavy routes, an e-bike is often faster than a moped because it can use bus lanes and cycle paths, with no fuel and no ULEZ. The ETT Trayser’s large battery is built specifically for full delivery shifts.
Is insurance included?
Yes. Every Otto e-bike rental includes hire-and-reward cover for delivery work, GPS tracking, free servicing and breakdown replacement — the same all-inclusive weekly price as our mopeds.
How old do I have to be to rent an e-bike?
You must be at least 14 to ride an EAPC in the UK, but delivery platforms generally require riders to be 18 or over. No licence or CBT is needed for the bike itself.
